With the passage of time, I learned to forget her eye words, the measure of her adjective lips, the sharpness of her substantive hands. With the passage of time, time passed over my steps, and I filled myself with forgotten things that were forgetting me. The city of which I have spoken no longer exists, neither its streets, nor the mute sisters' shop, nor the ties as wide as paddles, nor the miniature palms, nor the Proustian atmosphere free of decadence. All has succumbed. The music, the dance hall, the dog leaning into the gramophone. Everything is lost, I lost it. The swelling around my eye disappeared long ago, but the bruise on my spirit remains, and something is missing, Mabel, something is missing, and that is why I walk through life like a crippled insect, a lizard without a tail, or something like that.

Noise as a disrupting element of the everyday cannot go too far. Capitalism puts a sexy etiquette on it, transforms it into product and successfully puts it back to the eternal production consumption cycle. Any attempt to dispute the dominant system has failed, because the system itself has the mechanism to successfully assimilate and neutralize its internal distortions. Therefore in capitalism our noise has no longer a sound. It is mute. Urban life is depicted as a claustrophobic dystopia, an infinite interior from which there is no longer outside, as noise is condemned to remain imprisoned and fails to operate as a breakthrough.

Η παραφωνία σαν στοιχείο διαρρηξης της καθημερινότητας δεν επιβιώνει για πολύ. Ο καπιταλισμός της βάζει μια ελκυστική ταμπέλα, τη μετατρέπει σε εμπόρευμα και την ξαναρίχνει στον αέναο κύκλο παραγωγής-κατανάλωσης. Κάθε απόπειρα να αμφισβητηθεί το κυρίαρχο σύστημα έχει αποτύχει, επειδή το ίδιο το σύστημα διαθέτει το μηχανισμό να εξουδετερώνει και να αφομοιώνει επιτυχώς τις εσωτερικές του παραφωνίες. Στον καπιταλισμό ο θόρυβός που κάνουμε δεν έχει πια ήχο. Εχει σιγήσει. Η αστική ζωή απεικονίζεται σαν μια κλειστοφοβική δυστοπία, ένα ατελείωτο εσωτερικό από το οποίο δεν υπάρχει πια διέξοδος. Οι παραφωνίες μας αντί να προκαλέσουν ρήγματα παραμένουν εκεί φυλακισμένες.
